Take a clear picture of the instructions
Place the worksheet or homework screen in good light. Keep all the task instructions and the due date inside the image, and avoid covering text with your hand.
A screenshot from a school platform can work well when the key information is visible. Crop out unnecessary names and personal information before using it.
Review what the app recognised
Photo recognition may misread handwriting, mix up a subject or overlook the deadline. Check the suggested title, subject and due date rather than saving automatically.
If the photograph is unclear, enter or correct the assignment manually. It is better to spend a few seconds confirming the details than to plan around a wrong date.
Treat estimated time as a starting point
A task with ten quick questions is different from one requiring research and a written answer. Any automatic duration is an estimate, not a measurement of your child.
Adjust the estimate if you know the task will be longer or shorter. If the work takes more time than expected, update it and allow the plan to be recalculated.
Check the plan around the real day
Once an assignment is approved, it should be placed around home times, clubs, meals and bedtime. If several deadlines collide, prioritise what is urgent and look for an earlier workable slot.
End with one visible first action. A plan should make starting easier, not create another complicated checklist.
